Funding

The Research & Education Foundation is dedicated to improving health and healthcare through learning & research. To make this possible we are dependent upon support from donations, grants and sponsorship. We are very grateful for any donations made towards our work. Please see below if you wish to make a donation or call us on 071 917 4678.

Direct Salary Donation Scheme for HSE Staff
A significant income stream for the Foundation is the large group of staff who contribute monthly to the Foundation through a Direct Salary Donation Scheme. The options are monthly donations of either €10, €15 or €25. In order to sign up to the scheme, download a salary donation form here and forward it to the Foundation Office on level 6, SGH. Lodging Money in the Bank
The Research & Education Foundation bank account is with AIB. The simplest way to donate directly to our account is to lodge your donation at an AIB branch giving the bank the required account information. Please fill out your name and address on the lodgement form so that we can acknowledge your donation and keep you informed of Foundation activities. Please also send your receipt to our office: The Research & Education Foundation, Level 6, Sligo General Hospital, Sligo.

Setting up a standing order

Postal order/Cheque Donation Form

The Foundation can claim Tax Relief on individual donations (from PAYE contributors) over €250 donated within the Tax year at no extra cost to you. Please call the Research & Education Foundation on 071 917 4678 for more detail or view details on the Revenue Website.

Wills and bequests

A gift through your will to the Research & Education Foundation is a great way to support advances in health and healthcare. You may choose to leave either a specific amount of money, a particular item of value, whole or a part of your estate, or what remains of your estate after you have provided for other beneficiaries. It is advisable to discuss the way your gift will be most effective with an estate planning advisor or your solicitor. If you already have a will, it is still possible to leave a gift for the Foundation by asking your solicitor to include an addition (codicil) onto your will stating the gift you would like to leave.
